Description

This particular coin celebrates the Divine Mercy, a painting of Adolf Hyla created to express his gratitude to Jesus for the survival of his family during World War II. The painting is kept in Krakow sanctuary

Аверс:  displays the effigy of Her Majesty Elizabeth II and the flag of Tokelau. These are surrounded by the following inscriptions: the Queen’s name, the face value of the coin, its weight and metal fineness, issuing country and year. An intricate religious ornament is finely crafted at the bottom of the coin.

Реверс:The reverse is a tiny replica of the Divine Mercy by Adolf Hyla. Having created it after the death of St. Faustina, the artist used the descriptions from Faustina’s diary he was given by the nuns at the convent, and a small copy of the first painting. This picture is known for the piercing eyes of Christ as he walks towards the viewer. What is characteristic of the image are two rays: a red and a pale one. The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous, and the red one means the Blood which is the life of souls. The picture is accomplished by the signature at the bottom: "Jesus, I trust in You" in Polish. A nice gift for religious people and those loving art!
